Translating books at home

In recent months, my partner and I have been reading the English translation of Yoshiki Tanaka’s Japanese novel series “Legend of the Galactic Heroes” (LOGH).

While I usually avoid reading books in English as it is not my native language, this translation felt effortless to read.

Everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked we started reading the 4th book. The translator had changed, you see. The first 3 books were translated by Daniel Huddleston, while the next 3 were translated by Tyran Grillo. (There are 4 more books afterward, but we don’t care about them today).
